Meet Jim Booth

I strongly believe that swimming should be fun. When kids are having a great time, they progress faster and become great swimmers.

Our teachers constantly challenge our students in ways that help them explore the water while learning the fundamentals of great swimming. Over fifty years of experience has taught us that learning correctly in the beginning leads to lifelong success. Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect!

My family had me in the water as a young child, before I could walk. I don't remember a time when I wasn't swimming. It was a fun and memorable family tradition that I hope to share with your family. This is why I love the Parent/Baby classes. From four months and up, these initial experiences in the water help create a lifelong appreciation for the water.

This is not just a business for me. I greatly enjoy meeting the students and their parents. I'm always available to answer questions or chat about swimming and your child's lessons. If you're a parent from another swim school, or looking to get your kiddo in the water for the first time, please feel free to call me anytime at (831) 722-3500.

Work With Us

Jim Booth Swim School teachers ready for swim lessons in Santa Cruz County

We are ALWAYS seeking new swim instructors. With training and experience swim instructors can move on to become lead teachers or pool managers.

Jim Booth Swim School is looking for teachers who LOVE working with children. Someone with a positive attitude who is hard working, reliable, and loves a challenge!

We are currently hiring swim instructors for both our Watsonville locations.

Ideally, we like to hire teachers to work for us LONG TERM. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and committed who will help grow the swim program. Our best swim instructors start in high school and continue through college. We are willing to work with school schedules. The longer you teach, the more skilled you become.

No swim instructor experience necessary! We have a specific teaching method and do all the training in house.
